This and That

So our meetings with our sales reps went well yesterday, and we bragged about our new titles and our back titles – which was a real treat, since we have some fabulous back list titles. The sales reps asked great questions, which allowed us to clarify key points and talk a bit about why we love these books.

The more we are exposed to the inner workings of Consortium, the more impressed we are. These guys are a Cadillac distributor, and it’s lovely to see how much the sales reps love working with them.

In other news, Barry Petersen’s Jan’s Story won a silver medal in the Biography category at the Independent Publishers Awards, so a big huzzah for him.

Lastly, a very Happy Mother’s Day for those of you who are celebrating. It’s been such a gift having my babies here in New York with us – we’re all so blessed!

It IS wonderful having children nearby. I’m blessed also in this regard.

Happy Mother’s Day to you too! I enjoy your daily posts, and am always looking for new books to read.

Glad to hear that Consortium is the Cadillac of distributors. Is this a yearly meeting to pitch books to the sales reps?

Glad to know it all went so well in NYC. The weather looks gorgeous. It’s still winter in the PNW. Jealous!

  4. Gutsy, we meet with the sales reps twice a year – May in New York, and November in Minneapolis, so we can cover our full list for the year.

Kim, the weather has been fabulous, though it’s cloudy and windy today. I hate to leave this lively city tomorrow afternoon, but the beagle has threatened to sell the house and run away to Mexico with the proceeds.
