Age has nothing to do with it

In honor of those writers who worry about being “too old” to begin a literary career…fuggedaboudit. Here’s a wonderful example of the meaningless idea of age. Bob Hope is 52, and James Cagney is 56.

I can’t watch videos like this without thinking about how easy it is to spot the non-dancer when paired with a dancer in these shows. It’s a great scene. I need to look up more Cagney scenes.

  2. 52 and 56 aren’t old, particularly in professionals that require more brain than brawn, and more wisdom and knowledge of the world than callow youth.

Anybody remember Dick Van Dyke dancing at the end of “Night at the Museum?” I think he was 82 at the time.

Thank you so much for this post. This has been a weight on my mind and heart a lot lately.
