Every time, the past few months, when it’s time for me to return to a manuscript and write, I receive an offer of an advance reader proof, or see a new title that attracts my interest and the next thing I know (completely without my active participation, I must add…) I’m buried in a new read, oblivious to the call of my own work. It’s unhealthy and obsessive, but what can I do?
